He sold his life for $399,300

People are strange and Ian Usher is a strange dude for sure. In June this year, this Australian 44 years old guy decided to sell all his life on Ebay.
And when he said all his life, he was pretty serious. He means ALL his life : house, his car, motorbike, jet-ski, spa, and stuffs and things, also his job, pets and even his friends.. You can see the whole list (with photos, videos on his website : http://www.alife4sale.com/)
Why did he do that ? Well, the man gave us some explanation about a love story turning short and so on. But don't get fooled, it's an excuse. He wanted to sell his life, because it's the craziest thing he could do at that time. He is a real pioneer in our post-modern world. He started something new, an exploration of a new world : the life-selling. I am sure, fools as we are, that in a few decades, we will all be selling or trading our lifes on the Internet. Life after all is a consumer good as well as any other.
He narrated all his story on his blog (hours of auction I guess, I don't have the energy to read it fully).
To make it short, you can just watch that video :
On the 29 June, the auction ended on the amount of $399,300 (Australian Dollars). The price of his complete life style. Well under what he expected ($500 000 ) and well under the real price of the House (about $400 000). Even if, he had a great media coverage with this silly adventure, he got a lot of disappointment too. He was victim of hoax bids making him believe in the first time he was going to get the jackpot...
Sadly, with this AU$ 399 300 bid, he didn't even get a real buyer and apparently is still looking for one guy to grab the full package, as he relates in this post.
Sold or not sold, whatever.. Ian decided to start a new life. He decided to walk out the door of its house in Perth, with only a wallet and passport, in order to start a new challenging life. And, as his insanity has not cured by miracle, he jumped into a new madness : he set himself the objective to reach 100 goals in 100 weeks.
Hurray !
